Meet Danielle Smith, RMT

(pronouns?)

A kinesthetic learner and student of life, Danielle understands that the body - each of our beings - is impacted by both internal physiological factors and external structural factors, and that the body holds a deep innate wisdom and resilience toward healing.

Through a harm-reduction framework and creating as much safety as possible, a trauma-informed approach and healing centred focus is integrated into Danielle’s RMT practice. They work collaboratively with each of their clients in an evolving process of treatments based on any given set of circumstances that are being faced.

Danielle’s practice has been grounded in Swedish massage along with myofascial release, trigger point therapy, manual lymph drainage, joint mobilization, and myofascial stretching amongst other techniques. Their work experience ranges from sports massage therapy, to pre- and peri-natal massage, to clinic-based and onsite massage therapy in the sports, corporate, and arts sectors. D’s treatment repertoire encompasses biomechanical assessments to address a wide range of injuries (sports related, sedentary wear and tear, acute accidents), and a neurophysiological understanding to assess and address the impacts of historical, chronic, or acute stress.

Besides continuing their studies of the human body/being, Danielle enjoys travel, cooking, leather work, and change-making.
